We have several Head Start centers serving the city of Lynchburg, Amherst County, and Bedford County, with new locations in Big Island and Amherst Elementary.

What do I need to enroll my child in Head Start?
To complete the enrollment process you will need to have your child's Social Security Card, Insurance Card, up to date Physical and Immunization Record, that is SIGNED and DATED by your child's doctor, birth certificate, court documents if applicable, IEP or any Special Needs documentation if applicable.
Once enrolled:
Consistent attendance is important. A Head Start grantee must maintain its funded enrollment of 290 children. When a program determines that a vacancy exists, no more than 30 calendar days may elapse before the vacancy is filled.
